Chamonix: From Hut to Hut
Hiking from hut to hut in the French Alps near Chamonix: A five-day hike traversing the wild Nature Reserve of the Aiguilles Rouges, for those looking for an introduction to trekking.
Two days are spent traversing the Massif with spectacular views of Mont Blanc and the Chamonix needles, followed by a complete change of scenery and the ascent of Mt Buet 3'096m (10'157 ft).
All nights are spent in basic but friendly walker's mountain huts, full board and lunch included. An average day begins with an 08:00 am start followed by about 6 to 8 hours of walking.
Using well-maintained trails, this trip has no unpleasant surprises for the beginner and allows the more experienced walkers to get away from the crowds that are often found on the 'other' side of the valley.
This trip is well adapted to families planning a week's holiday in the Chamonix valley considering the accessibility of huts and terrain.
