Chamonix Valley Walking Weeks

Chamonix in the French Alps is famous for its many trails that allow avid hikers as well as beginners and families to enjoy the alpine scenery at its best. Hiking in and around Chamonix will give you everything the Alps have to offer: stunning, spectacular views, a charming, vibrant mountain town, and quick access to trails in Switzerland and Italy.

From the alpine meadows of Vallorcine to the south side of the Mont Blanc, we will hike through larch forests on the Mont de la Saxe ridge above Courmayeur, Italy, and take in stunning views of Mont Blanc, the Aiguille Noire de Peuterey and the Grande Jorasses. If the weather is bad in France, let's go through the Mont Blanc tunnel to Italy, or over the Col de Forclaz pass to Switzerland, everything is possible.

In the Chamonix valley, on some days, making use of cable-cars will allow us more time to admire the alpine fauna such as the ibex and chamois, two species of mountain goats that inhabit the cliffs above the valleys. With 'balcony' walks on both the south and north sides of the valley, each day is very different in terms of not only the views but also the vegetation encountered.

Based in the Chamonix valley the entire week, short mini-van transfers allow us to access trail heads or cable-cars.

Please note that there is no set itinerary, we plan the week according to weather and group abilities.

Our accommodation are friendly hotels** or catered comfortable chalets. This trip is ideal for family walking holidays.
