Alpine Interface: Hiking / Walking in France
France is the most visited country in the world.
More than 78 million people come to this country each year.
From medieval fortifications to towering cathedrals to acres of vineyards and glorious cuisine, France epitomizes old world refinement and culture.
But France is also a modern country with a tremendous network of high-speed trains and an excellent motorway network allowing the visitor to cover many parts of the country in a short time. With service industry employees speaking English in larger numbers and prices stabilizing in hotels and restaurants after the introduction of the Euro, France is at the top of the lists for many travellers.
A safe, stable country with outstanding medical and educational facilities, France is one of Europe's leaders in medical research.
With such a huge variety of geography and historical sites, cuisine, culture and even languages, it is no wonder that France has been at the epicenter of European and even world history for many centuries.
Our trips in France will only focus on several of France's many regions, but Normandy and Provence have all the elements of a perfect hoiday getaway.

New in our program are the D-Day beaches in Normandy.
The trip is a perfect mix of gentle walking, copious amounts of history with visits of the D-Day beaches, Rouen, Paris, Mont St. Michel and Honfleur, as well as a gourmet experience when it comes to Normandy's famous cuisine.
Organic, locally-grown foods, cheeses and meats have made Normandy one of the world's culinaru capitals.
Our ' Country Walks in Provence' trip takes place in the pre-Alps of Southern France, where the limestone landscape is drenched in sunshine most of the year.
Vibrantly colored villages, vineyards, seas of lavender are the backdrops to days of gentle walking and evenings of wine tasting and gourmet meals.
Visiting Roman towns, feasting on local delights and meandering through Provencal markets are some of the highlights of this unique journey.
