Alpine Interface: Trekking / Hiking in the Himalaya

Nepal, Tibet, India

The Himalaya (also Himalayas), are a mountain range in Asia, separating the Indian subcontinent from the Tibetan Plateau. By extension, it is also the name of the massive mountain system which includes the Himalaya proper, the Karakoram, the Hindu Kush, and a host of minor ranges extending from the Pamir Knot.

The name comes from the Sanskrit himãlaya, a tatpurusa compound meaning 'the abode of snow'.

Together, the Himalaya mountain system is the planet's highest and home to the world's highest peaks, including Mount Everest, Cho Oyo and Shishapangma, all three base camps of which we visit during our Three-Base Camp-Trek in Tibet.
The Himalaya stretches across six countries: Bhutan, China, Nepal, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

We offer trips in Nepal and Tibet, India will soon follow,

NEPAL
Once bitten, the Nepal bug takes hold and a return trip to this mountain kingdom is the only cure.

We at Alpine Interface have been bitten and so return each year, never satiating our desire to learn more, see more and experience Nepal, this multi-faceted jewel that despite social upheaval never loses its luster.

Nepal is much more than mountains, granted they are some of the highest and most majestic on earth, the scene of numerous high-altitude epics, which have claimed the lives of many intrepid climbers.

Each of our guides is government certified and each trek is co-led by a Western trekking guide.

TIBET
The landscape is unlike anything that you will ever see and the dokpas, or nomads, are constantly present, reminding us that despite the harsh conditions, man has survived in Tibet for many centuries.

Tibet has been protected not only by its geographical situation where the Great Himalayan Range has prevented conquests over the centuries, but also due to its policy of self-imposed isolation.

Adventurers such as Alexandra David Neel have braved bandits and feudal lords in order to reach the forbidden city of Lhasa, where wondrous tales of mythical kingdoms have tantalized readers for a century.
