Everest East Face - Kangshung Valley Trek
Everest East Base Camp - The Kangshung Valley follows an ancient trading and pilgrimage route, which sees very little traffic.
Our Kangshung Valley trek begins with a flight from Kathmandu, Nepal into Lhasa, Tibet, where we spend several days sight-seeing and acclimatizing before driving west towards the beginning of our trek.
The Kangshung Valley offers a dramatically different landscape compared to the barren, glaciated, north side of Everest.
Spectacular mountain views, lush valleys and pristine forests are just a few of Tibet's wonders that await you. This trek crosses the high, rugged Tibetan plateau and requires a good level of fitness, but above all, an excellent sense of adventure.
Tibet remains a hostile place due to strong winds, scorching sun, and the unpredictability of Mother Nature; therefore, one needs to be open to itinerary changes that may require taking alternate routes and unplanned stops, all part of the adventure.
