Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB)
Walking around Mont Blanc through France, Italy, Switzerland, three cultures, one mountain!
Trekking the Tour du Mont Blanc, better known as the 'TMB', has fascinated walkers for several hundred years. Horace-Benedicte de Saussure, the famous Swiss botanist, was the first person to have circumnavigated the entire Mont Blanc Range for scientific reasons in 1758. This may well be the historical beginning of one of the world's best-known walks.
The Tour du Mont Blanc Trek offers some of the most spectacular alpine landscapes, hiking over several major mountain passes while enjoying breathtaking views of the giants of the Alps.
From the mountaineering capital of the world, Chamonix, France, the Tour du Mont Blanc takes you from alpine meadows to the rugged, mineral world of the high mountains, and back down to the valley where tradition has gone uninterrupted for hundreds of years. During the summer months of July and August, alpine flora and fauna are prolific and wildflowers line the trails of the Tour du Mont Blanc.
We offer two different comfort levels for the Tour du Mont Blanc.
A: Aficionado's Tour du Mont Blanc (10 days) US$ 2300 per person
The Aficionado's 'TMB' keeps you in touch with the mountains, staying in refuges and inns.
Carrying slightly heavier packs is a small sacrifice in order to experience the high Alps on some evenings. A careful combination of dormitories and hotels maintains a reasonable level of comfort at an affordable price.
B: Tour du Mont Blanc Express (8 days) US$ 3100 per person
A shorter version of the Tour du Mont Blanc, with double rooms throughout and luggage transfers, allowing for a light backpack and an easier walking experience.
Nights are spent in the valleys, giving you the opportunity to explore the small villages and towns of the Alps.

"...I wanted to thank both of you for a fabulous holiday. I knew from the initial emails that I had found an outfitter that worked for me and now after the trip I knew I was right. I enjoyed the TMB and the local experience. It is obvious that both of you take pride in organizing all aspects of the trip -- from the accommodations and food which are representative of each locale, to the route which changes with the group's ability and weather, to staff (Duncan was great.) and to making yourselves available for minor client needs as searching for boots! (Someone had to spur the local economy.) .." - Anna I., NY
