Detailed Itinerary, 10 days
Day 1: Arrival Day
We meet the group in Rouen, a gorgeous medieval city, famous for its magnificent cathedral, which was painted several times by Monet.
Welcome dinner and evening of exploring the city centre.
Day2: Rouen
Today we have ample time for a guided visit of Rouen, its Cathedral and Norman market. Afterwards we will have lunch in a bustling restaurant in the city centre. We visit the very spot where Saint Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. An afternoon warm-up hike has been planned in the forest above the city.
3-4 hours of easy walking.
Dinner and night in Rouen.
Day 3: Caen - Etretat
Short vehicle transfer after breakfast to Fécamp via Caen, where we will visit the peace museum and then hike to Etretat and its seaside resort and narrow streets. Lunch will be taken on the way.
Moderate walking along chalk cliffs. 5-6 hours. Dinner and night in Etretat.
Day 4: Etretat
Day hike around Etretat where Impressionist painters used the cliffs as a backdrop to their paintings.
5-6 hours. Picnic lunch or restaurant.

Day 5: Honfleur
Early in the morning we depart for Honfleur, a charming little Norman fishing village. We will walk to the harbor and have lunch along the picturesque quais. In the afternoon we organize a guided visit of the city.

Day 6: Arromanches
Today is our D-day: We transfer to Arromanches and begin our guided tour of 4-5 hours on sandy beaches and on trails. We will walk along Omaha, Sword and Juno Beach.
Lunch will be taken in an authentic quaint restaurant.

Day 7: Saint Mer Eglise
No Normandy trip without visiting Saint-Mer L'Eglise, famous for the American parachuter whose parachute was caught at the church stable. He was hanging off the church while his comrades fought off the Nazis. Although shot in the foot, he survived. We will also go for a short hike in the afternoon, visiting the D-Day museum and the cemetery.
3-4 hours walking.
Dinner and night in Arromanches.
Day 8: Mont Saint Michel
Famous Mont Saint Michel and its incredible fortifications. Although located closer to Britanny, it still belongs to the region of Normandy. Depending on tides we will be able to hike below the massive walls of the city. We will have a guided visit, and go for a short hike, 4-5 hours in total.
Dinner and night at Mont Saint Michel.
Day 09: paris
We transfer to Paris today.
The day is yours to explore the city, and we will meet in the evening for our farewell dinner.
Day 10: departure day
Departure from Paris, by train or flight.
