Vertical Addiction, maybe the best little gear shop in the Bow Valley?
Benoit Gosselin, of Montreal, made the move to Canmore because of his work as a rep. for the outdoor gear industry and for his passion for climbing and skiing. And like the Eagle’s Hotel California, you can check out but never leave, Canmore has that magnetic affect on people and Ben was one of them. Back in 2005, waiting for the birth of their first child, Ben and Valerie decided to establish a gear-centric climbing and back-country ski shop providing a wide range of skis, bindings, boots for the outdoor enthusiast in the winter and climbing gear for summer. Benoit sells very little clothing as his main focus is on providing some of the best gear for each sport. He only brings in what he thinks works and his line of skis, boots and ice tools reflect his passion for quality gear.
Coming to Vertical Addiction makes sense for the first time back country skier or the hard core ripper, as Benoit matches MEC prices and offers real experience and knowledge when discussing gear. Ben not only knows the gear he sells, but knows how to use it and can give you expert advice on where to go in the back country, how to find information about avalanche and snow science courses and can keep you posted on the latest conditions when it comes to ice-climbing and mixed routes. But if you cannot make it in to the store, Ben and Valerie offer on-line sales at http://vertical-addiction.com/
You can reach Benoit at 403-609-8226. Vertical Addiction is located at 1040 Railway Ave. #100, just across the street from Sport Experts. Happy Trails!
