Day 1: Meet in Buenos Aires. Briefing and if possible, a short, guided visit of one of the more vibrant quarters of the city is planned.
Days 2-6: A regional flight takes us to El Calafaté, the entry point to our Patagonian journey. Local guides will meet us at the airport where we will embark on several days of hiking through Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre National Parks and then back to El Chaltén.
Days 7-8: A bus journey will take us to one of the natural wonders of the world, the Perito Moreno Glacier. Half day hikes are in order to discover both the glacier and trails in the area.
Days 9-12: The magic of Torres del Paine National Park will be the highlight of our time spend in Chile. 6 hours of driving and border formalities will make for a long first day, but certainly well worth it. 4 days will spent exploring the trails below the Paine Towers, the Ascencio River Valley, French Valley ad Lakes Pehoé and Grey.
Days 13-14: Puerto Natales and the Laguna Esmeralda. An alpine start to get us into Tierra Del Fuego and back into Argentina early in order to explore this fascinating part of Patagonia. Spending time will local Gauchos will give us a window into how these rugged men have adapted and transformed the barren land into a productive sheep and cattle grazing area.
Days 15-16: Ushuaïa, Tierra Del Fuego National Park and Return to Buenos Aires. From our estancia, our drive takes us to the southern most city in South America, the famed Ushuaia, and to the Beagle Channel and the natural splendours of Tierra Del Fuego National Park. A chartered boat will take us into the Beagle Channel where marine biologists will explain the rich and diverse marine fauna, history of the area and aboriginal populations which gave Patagonia its name. Evening flight back to BA.
Day 17: Transfer to BA International Airport. End of trip.
